It is right now, just in time for the winter holidays that Chinon Corporation, one premier digital technology innovator, announced the launch of its AVi, said to be the first in the industry portable iPod docking station with a built-in LCD monitor and digital TV tuner. All of you iPod and iPhone fans out there can
have the possibility of watching content and listening to music, as well as watching TV, all in one (not to) compact docking station.
“Chinon is committed to bringing the latest technology in consumer electronics to the U.S.,” said Masazumi Chino, president of Chinon Corporation. “This entertainment system is the most functional and portable docking station and TV combination on the market.”
Coming in a very user-friendly format, the device embeds an alarm clock, a digital picture frame, iPod docking player, radio, and even TV, in just one, affordable, all in one, compact entertainment system. As for the looks, the AVi resembles the all-known frame of a retro boom box, but with a modern feel to it, especially added by the rubberized black finish and silver trim that still takes the nostalgic style of the past and packs it with nowadays’ technology.
Developed to be used both at home and on the road, the AVi features a 7-inch LCD monitor, an AUX input for various other audio enabled portable devices, ATSC digital TV tuner with AV out, a built-in telescopic radio antenna, external telescopic TV antenna, a digital FM radio and alarm clock, as well as a full function remote control. This all-in-one everything (I guess I can call it like that) is capable of playing both local TV channels and just music, besides video content from the user's iPod. Officially licensed by Apple in the "Made for iPod" range, the AVi can be purchased for a price of $199.99.
