Without a doubt, the Flip camcorders have really earned their place in the history of technology as some of the most interesting (and actually, some of the first) pocket camcorders to arrive on the market, and even the fact that the company manufacturing them has been purchased by Cisco has not stopped them from evolving, the networking giant investing quite a lot in the development of new and attractive Flip devices.
So, it should come as no surprise that Cisco has just rolled out today an all-new line of affordable UltraHD and MinoHD video cameras that, according to Cisco, Flip Video simplicity, enhanced HD video quality, hardware-based image stabilization, expanded product personalization options, and more ways to share video using pre-loaded FlipShare software.
The
Flip Video UltraHD series now offers two new models (called simply 2HR (hour) and 1HR, in order to offer some info on the amount of recording space they provide), both of which feature always-on image stabilization and newly enhanced 720p/60 fps video quality.
Moreover, the new Flip Video UltraHD 2 hour also features a new slimmer design that fits easily in a pocket or purse, while also being the first Flip video camera to feature FlipPort, a proprietary Flip-designed connector enabling new add-ons options.
The 1-hour version of the Flip Video UltraHD is the first-ever HD Flip Video camera priced at $149.99, offering more for less: one hour of high-quality HD video, Flip simplicity, no-hassle built-in memory, plus a choice of magenta, blue, white or thousands of unique designs.
The
MinoHD series has also received an upgrade, following in the footsteps of the UltraHD family by featuring both 1-hour and 2-hour models.
Like the new UltraHD 2HR, the new MinoHD video cameras now feature the built-in image stabilization and 720p/60 fps combination, while users can opt for black, silver or from thousands of designs at the Flip Online Store.
Beside the new camcorder models, Flip also announced today Designed for Flip, a new program offering various accessories from a wide range of partners that include everything from wide angle lenses and external microphones to battery chargers and a portable projector.
