Cleaning the house is seen as a woman's job and even if it is often reduced to almost a joke, it's definitely not an easy job, especially when the woman who has to do the cleaning is a wife, mother, has to take care of the pets, cook, work, all in one day, every day.

Luckily, vacuum cleaners have evolved too, just like every other gadget these days, featuring new technologies meant to ease the job of their users. Even if they don't look like space shuttles or flying saucers (not yet, that is), vacuum cleaners have been developed over the years to integrate unique features and functions so that they could clean better, faster, with less energy and effort from the user, with concern towards the environment and the human health.

That may seem a lot of traits, that not even the most complex of robots could bear at once. Nevertheless, large home appliances companies, such as Electrolux, LG, Dyson or Miele wanted to prove that it could be done, by releasing several models on the market, more and more advanced than the previous ones.

Electrolux is known for quite some time now as a company that delivers practicality and style through its devices, and the Ergorapido 2-in-1 vacuum cleaner is no exception. The stylish Ergorapido 2-in-1 is the second generation of a very successful small-sized Electrolux vacuum line. With its slim soft lines and striking colors this vacuum cleaner looks elegant enough to be placed anywhere in your home, so it is always readily available.

Ergorapido is a very sleek lightweight stick vacuum cleaner, which is extremely easy to use around the house, being gentle to your floors and carpets. However, with the push of a button , Ergorapido transforms into a powerful hand vacuum, with a built-in crevice tool, which allows you to reach practically everywhere. The 180 degree swivel head actually increases its cleaning ability, letting you clean in, around and under anything in your home.

A very cool feature is the precise cleaning system of the Ergorapiudo, which combines a motorized brush roll with a cyclonic dust cup, in order to make it more efficient. Thus, the cyclonic suction technology keeps the dust away from the vacuum's filter, to prolong its suction power.

But probably the best part about the Ergorapido is the fact that it is very comfortable to use, as it has no cord to worry about, but a charging station instead, which you can even hang on the wall, to save the space in your home.

Cleaning the house might actually become a pleasant and relaxing activity thanks to the new Electrolux Energica stick vacuum cleaner. Not only that the Energica will spare you the torment of hoses and cables lying around the house, but it will also turn cleaning into a somewhat classy activity, if you can imagine that.

Thus, its internal design gives it a suction power exceeding any other lightweight upright on the market, making it as powerful as a normal canister cleaner, and the sleek stick vacuum comes various appealing colors, so you don't have to hide it in the closet, so that it doesn't ruin your home decor.

The small footprint, the light weight and very slim form are appealing for those who don’t want traditional canister or heavy, bulky upright vacuum cleaners, but still demand the power and performance of one.

The Z9120A professional bagged upright cleaner from Electrolux is a durable, efficient and high performance product, with many exclusive features and a rather unusual design, meaning that it's most definitely one of the slickest and flattest vacuum cleaners available on the market at this moment.

The Z9120A is all you'll ever need for any type of cleaning, be it hard floors, carpets and stairs, under beds and low furniture - this bagged upright vacuum cleaner does everything. It features a HEPA filtration system, which ensures that only clean air leaves the cleaner, turning this device into the ideal cleaner for allergy sufferers, as it captures pollens, dust mites and allergens.

The Enviro Vac Z2952A uses 30% less energy, yet picks up 20% more than competitive vacuums. This has been achieved by using a super efficient motor of just 800 Watts, designed to perform as well or better than competitive cleaners which guzzle 1,600 Watts or more.

The cleverly designed Electrolux vacuum uses little energy without sacrificing cleaning performance. Efficient yet affordable, the Enviro Vac is the cleaner equivalent of energy saving light bulbs, and with 7 meter cord you can reach everywhere.

Key features of this Electrolux vacuum cleaner are cyclonic action, edge to edge cleaning, floor type selector, easy clean HEPA filtration system (ideal for allergy sufferers) and 3 to 1 stretch hose which is ideal for stairs and above floor cleaning. Comes with combination dusting and upholstery brush. Also, it features telescopic tube, crevice nozzle, easy to empty dustbin, on/off control on upper body, floor type selector, plastic extension tubes and edge cleaning function (spinning bristles clean right up to skirting boards).

LG is one of Electrolux's main competitors, releasing numerous models that show the advance of technology in this area. The V-KC402CTU vacuum cleaner is a great example of LG's performant products.

This model features the Dyna Clean system, which doesn't lose any suction whilst you are cleaning, since it's utilizing a clog free system. But this is not all, because, thanks to the dust finding sensor, you can recognize where you have cleaned, thus obtaining some sort of "cleaning assurance". The suction power is automatically adjusted by the amount of dust in the area, saving you time and energy.

And since the health and well-being of the users is what LG thought about first, the V-KC402CTU vacuum cleaner comes equipped with washable HEPA12 filters. The grade of 'HEPA12' does not miss even the smallest particles of dust. It filters 99.97% of dust. HEPA filter, which stands for 'High Efficiency Particulate Air' filter, is used in almost all air purifying products.

This vacuum from LG does not only leave the air in the room clean and dustless, but it also leaves carpets looking as good as new, thanks to its Carpet Master Plus function. Thus, the rubber scraper inside improves dust collecting performance, while the smart sensor automatically adjusts the turbine speed, and because of the soft wheels, your floors won't be all scratched, like in the case of other cleaners.

In case you forget, the cleaner will remind you to empty the dust bin, as the LED display blinks and the integrated voice messages will announce you it's time to empty the bin, while the one-touch Easy Dumper gives you the most hygienic and convenient solution for dust disposal. The 'Bio Tank' uses Nano-Silver technology to prevent growth of bacteria. The silver component included in the dust bin material prevents dust fungus and viruses from spreading. The Nano-Silver technology is used in most of LG's leading products.

The V-KC902HTM Kompressor bagless canister-type vacuum cleaner stands out because of its dust compression system, which takes up to 4 time more dust based on a 2.0l standard dust bin. The RotaBlade, rotating continuously from side to side, compacts the dust intake so that dust capacity is increased and dust collection is more hygienic.

Usually, an ordinary robot cleaner does not effectively suction large piles of dust or dirt from carpets and if the cleaner is lifted, piles of dust and dirt will tumble down. But that's about to stop now, thanks to the cute, but powerful V-R4000 cleaner from LG. With a 120W digital BLDC (brushless DC) mounted motor, this is the world's most powerful robot cleaner.

This is because a BLDC motor is a semiconductor device, with a long life, which generates little to no regular or electromagnetic noise. Moreover, this motor is digitally controlled. Thanks to BLDC (Brushless Direct Current) Motor loaded in Roboking, the suction power can reach up to 100W, which is by far the strongest suction performance among the few robotic vacuum models available in the market. Most high-end products usually feature from 30W to 70W of suction power. Therefore BLDC Motor makes cleaning more thorough.

In case you were wandering if there are any products that may help keeping your allergies in control, except for pills and shots, you will probably be very happy to find out that you can cure your allergies, at least that to dust, with the Raycop Anti-Bacterial Vacuum.

This manta ray-shaped vacuum is not the typical hand-vac, sporting a few very cool features. With a UV-C Sterilizing lamp, the Raycop vacuum can kill 99.9% of bacteria and can eradicate dust mites and germs responsible for dust allergy and even asthma. Actually, it is assisted in this action by the micro-allergy filtration.

This device is the only product of its type so far, having been awarded the coveted seal of approval from the British allergy foundation and it comes with a shed load of technology on-board. The 254nm UV sterilizing lamp, together with a vibrating pad will shake dust mites loose before you zap them and the micro-filtered high power vacuum will suck them up instantly.

You know how vacuum cleaners are supposed to suck up dust bunnies and their extended family residing underneath your couch? Well, those places are extremely dark to say the least, which makes the Miele S7 vacuum cleaner go one up on its rivals thanks to a row of LED lights that offer illumination of its surroundings as you clean up your pad.

Designed with fully integrated onboard accessories, ergonomic carrying handle, automatic setting and a whole host of practical features, the S7 is the ultimate convenience vacuum cleaner. It can fold back flat to get under furniture and have a LED display on the handle, while sensors underneath automatically adjust the height and suction to suit your carpet.

The Miele S7 features a six-liter vacuum bag to keep you busy cleaning longer. The S7 family has an excellent filtration system in air tight casing, locking in dust particles. The dust bag is designed to deliver optimum hygiene control with each bag consisting of 9 layers of fleece material.

Also, for people who own pets and hate to clean the hair that they leave behind, iRobot has some great solutions for them, namely the Roomba Pet Series vacuum cleaners. Roomba Pet Series Vacuum Cleaning Robots are designed especially for the "hairy" situations that pet owners face, with an efficiency that you wouldn't normal expect from such a small device. They clean four rooms on a single charge and gets into hard-to-reach areas like wall edges and beneath furniture, while avoiding stairs and other drop-offs. Roomba automatically adjusts from carpets to hard floors and back again and improved Virtual Wall Lighthouses tell Roomba where to clean by restricting off-limit areas.

All you have to do now, to make sure the process of cleaning transforms from a nuisance to a pleasant activities is search for more devices of this type and choose the one that suits your needs best.
