Almost everything we do on the computer nowadays is somehow related to the internet and when there is no connection available, all laptops and PCs start to look like pretty useless devices. This is why we now have all sorts of options when it comes to going online and wireless networks are the most comfortable to use. One of the best Wi-Fi networks nowadays is WiMAX, which is exactly the service that Clearwire has to offer.
The options for connecting through their WiMAX network have now grown in number thanks to three new gadgets that will allow for your Facebook page to load faster, no matter where you are. Two of them, the CLEARSpot 4G and CLEARSpot 4G+, are personal hotspots that will permit your smartphone, laptop, portable gaming console and up to eight internet-enabled devices to go online through it. The third is the company's first USB
WiMAX modem compatible with Mac OS X.
"In today's on-the-go world, everyone deserves fast speeds and the usage they want at a fair price - without constantly checking their usage or worrying about their end-of-month bill," said Dow Draper, vice president of product development for Clearwire. "These new devices offer today's mobile user, and the millions of Wi-Fi products in use across the country, even greater access to CLEAR's fast and affordable 4G service."
CLEARSpot 4G is the simplest
product in this new lineup and it is produced by InfoMark. Like the CLEARSpot 4G+, it will be available from July. This second mobile hotspot I've just mentioned offers both 4G and
3G connectivity options, making it a little more versatile than its sibling.
And speaking of practical, the little guy with a USB port attached to it is the CLEARspot USB modem manufactured by Sierra Wireless, which has been created so that it understands Mac OS X, up to the 10.6.x versions, as well as recent Windows versions either on 32-bit or on 64-bit systems. CLEARSpot Mobile USB also supports 3G networks and is already available for $114.99, if you care to purchase it, and for a $5.99 monthly fee, if rented.
We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
