Coby products span home and portable audio and video electronics, plus accessories. Leading categories include MP3 with video, portable DVD players, digital picture frames, as well as flat panel LCD televisions and surround sound home theater systems. But the latest addition to its portfolio falls under the category of digital photo frames.
Coby Electronics, newly named number 1 in the Digital Photo Frame category for 2008 by the NPD Group, brought its latest collection of digital photo frames to this year's Consumer Electronics Show. Despite the fact that they don't feature ground-breaking technology, they manage to stand out from the crowd thanks to the balance between sleek and stylish design, and must-have features, video displays and easy-to-use software.
“We’re proud to present this fresh collection of cutting-edge Digital Photo Frames,” said Mark Farish, Senior Marketing Manager for Coby Electronics. “This category remains one of the most popular in CE today, and the latest category report by NPD validates that Coby continues to lead the way with attractive, feature-rich and affordable units that let consumers preserve and enhance their most cherished memories,” he added.
These new frames come in three sizes, 7, 8.5 and 10.4 inches and they sport almost the same features, except for the size of the screen and the resolution (the smallest frame features an 800x480 resolution, while the other two, of 800x600 pixels), of course. Thus, they display photos in JPEG format, play MP3 and WMA music files. Also, they support MPEG-4(XviD), H.264 and Motion JPEG video files, as well as SD, MMC, MS, xD and CF memory cards.
Featuring a full-size USB port for use with flash memory drives, they come with integrated stereo speakers and include PC software for creating custom multimedia slideshows. Moreover, there's a full-function remote control included. There's no word on the price or availability just yet.
