I'm not really sure just how many of you have ever built their own Ethernet cable by punching in the Ethernet jacks at the end of the UTP cable, but those of you who have, and especially those who do this for a living, such as network administrators, data centers managers, professional network installers, probably know just how important the punch
tool is for this entire process.
And now, a company called comCables has decided to really up the ante in this field by rolling out the Rapid Punch Tool, which will help low voltage contractors
reduce installation time, create consistent terminations and improve testing results.
“The rapid punch tool will provide better consistency amongst technicians regardless of experience due to the design of the tool,” said Andy Work, Director of Product Manager of comCables. “This device may reduce installation time and increase profit margins for cabling projects.”
“We love this tool! We know our clients will as well!” commented Greg Greenwood, CEO of comCables. “We want every contractor to have this tool, which is why we’re offering this new release special. This tool will allow non-traditional cabling contractors, such as those installing IP-based cameras,
access control systems and audio-video equipment, to have a reduced learning curve and a stronger sense of comfort using structured cable”
The tool is being offered for free by purchasing fifty (50) comCables high density Cat5e or Cat6 jacks by August 31, 2010, but no info on the tool's actual pricing has been provided just yet.
