Remember that guide we published a while ago, where we were teaching you how to play Wii and GameCube games onto your PC using a nifty little
application called Dolphin? Well, I'm pretty sure those of you who do remember (and especially those of you who actually followed the steps of the guide and managed to get games working) wished they also had available some sort of device that would allow them to play the respective games using the Wii's own controller. Something along the lines of an... adapter?
Well, you seem to be in luck, since a Chinese gaming accessory manufacturer called Mayflash has come up with a nifty little thing called the Wii Classic Controller to PC USB Adapter, which allows users to easily
convert two Wii Classic Controllers (or Classic Controller Pro) to PC USB controllers, without too much fuss.
According to Mayflash, all buttons, D-pads, and analog sticks are recognizable in Windows Gamepad setup. Nevertheless, the adapter is provided with its own software, allows button re-mapping and supports Turbo / Auto Fire function. Furthermore, the L and R button of Wii Classic Controller will feature the pressure-sensitive function, but Classic Controller Pro will not support it.
Additionally, this adapter will apparently enable three different functioning modes for the D-Pad: Button Mode, X/Y Analog Axis mode and POV mode, accessible by pressing and holding "Home" and "L" or "R."
Furthermore, the
adapter comes with a USB cable measuring no less than 6 feet (1.8 meters) and will apparently work with pretty much any operating system out there, including Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista and Windows 7, 32 bit and 64 bit.
If you're already considering purchasing this thing, you should know that you'll most likely have to wait until mid-January to do so. Luckily, pricing is pretty decent, as one will only have to cough up around 14 bucks for this thing.
We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is
