It's going to be a hot summer this year. Each and every computer or electronic device is going to get a lot hotter than it did before. That includes the USB devices that are usually more likely to get hot. Sticking bunches of USB sticks and data cables into the back of our computers until will get you to eventually end up out of free USB slots. What then? Then we get an USB hub to multiply them.
What about USB hubs? They actually don't get hot, because they are merely a splitter, but for our own personal pleasure, the Airplane USB Hub has its propeller running as a high speed fan too. Giving a strong cooling sensation, the fan also sports soft plastic wings for user safety.
USB hubs are usually ugly and no fun, but not this one. Besides the already mentioned high speed fan that has a separate switch, not only does this thing look like an airplane, but also sounds like one. It plays a sound like its taking off, for five seconds, when you plug it to a computer and a neat airplane sound whenever you plug a device into it. Even the bottom stand resembles a landing gear, with no wheels though. It features 4 USB ports that, either loaded or empy, seem to simply belong there and just look plain good.
Sadly, it's only USB 1.1, so no wonder they implemented a fan, to cool you down while waiting for transfers. It would`ve been even better if you could have controlled the fan speed to turn it down a little, but not completely off. If I am to be demanding, I'd say it's a little too big to be portable and because of that I'm expecting the pocket size version, with USB 2.0 ofcourse. Until then, you can find this one online for the small price of 14$. As for the color, it only comes in airplane white and silver.
