Cowon has just revealed the fact that it has updated its V5 portable media player with WiFi, and named it the Cowon V5W. This PMP boasts a 4.8-inch VWGA touchscreen, so now with the new connectivity addition,
we could all agree this is more of a tablet.
Customers can opt for storage of up to 64GB in flash media type, which they can fill up with HD movies. That's because the V5W packs a HDMI output port and even S/PDIF output, so HDTVs will not feel lonely when the tablet is around. Practically, you'll be able to use it either at your friends' homes, or when traveling and coming across the high definition television at the hotel.
Just as before, the PMP supports a wide range of applications and games, but the company only pre-loaded it with the
Opera Internet browser and a YouTube viewer application, in order to highlight the newly added wireless connection.
For those times when the in-built storage is not enough, customers can resort to the SD card slot, so come to think about it (considering how much SD flash memory costs now), they
can have movie collections on flash storage. With a battery lifetime rated at up to 45 hours of music playback, 10 hours of video and 300 hours of standby, the Cowon V5W has no price tag yet, but we do know it will reach Korea sometime this month.
