We've seen plenty of 3G enabled mobile hotspots arrive on the market over the past couple of months, the latest to join this trend being the Cricket CROSSWAVE, a super-slim, ultra-portable dual mode DO/WiFi device that creates an instant mobile hotspot just about everywhere the user might be at the time.

In other words, the device from Cricket will be able to support multiple WiFi devices or users simultaneously, who, beside connecting to the Internet, will also be able to send and receive text messages, plus save content on SD cards (the device sports a built-in SD card slot with support of up to 32GB).

The Crosswave supports CDMA/WiFi 802.11 b/g networks, reaching 3G (EVDO REV0, REVA) & 1X, as well as Downlink: 3.1 Mbps, Uplink: 1.8Mbps data transfer speeds.

Another rather interesting detail worth mentioning here is the fact that the device also comes packed with a built-in rechargeable 1150 mAh Li-Ion battery, that enables a Wi-Fi range of around 10 meters (range goes up to 100 meters when connected to the external charger) for roughly 3 hours of use.

Plus, carrying it around should prove to be quite easy, since this thing measures 3.78 x 2.2 x 0.45 inches and weighs roughly 2.82 ounces.

The Crosswave can be pre-ordered as we speak for around $105, which is in fact a pretty OK price point, given the features this thing provides.
