You know, I have always wondered how many gamers out there (besides those that make a living out of gaming such as the Korean StarCraft players) take gaming so seriously that they buy portable computing systems that are specialized to do just that: offer the best performance in terms of computing and graphics to allow them to fully enjoy their favorite title, be it Solitaire or Crysis. I mean, there must be a lot of companies that continue to produce such devices, right?

Take CyberPower for example, which has recently announced yet another new line of notebook gaming systems that sport the fresh Intel Core i7 mobile CPU and PM55 Express Chipset. The three computers are dubbed the Xplorer X7-7700, Xplorer X6-9900, and the most powerful of the three, Xplorer X7-8500. Seeing how the Xplorer X7-7700 will be what most gamers will choose, how about we see what it can do?

Seeking to deliver a balance between performance and value, the X7-7700 comes with Intel's Core i7-720QM processor, 4GB of DDR3 RAM as well as the NVIDIA GTS 250 graphics card. As far as storage is concerned, it comes with an HDD that has 7,200 rotations per minute and can store up to 500GB of data. Keep in mind that this is the base configuration. Which costs 1,499 USD, by the way. Not that cheap, huh?

As far as the X6-9900 and X7-8500 are concerned, they have the same features as the X7-7700 but sport NVIDIA GTX 280M graphics, as well as an upgraded 1080p 1920 x 1080 display. Base pricing is set at 1,499 USD for the X6 and 2119 for the X7. Of course, they too can be configured with anything from better optical drives to the latest Intel Extreme Edition i7-920XM. As far as the operating system is concerned, they come preinstalled with Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
