Since Intel went official at CES with its new
Core line of both mobile and desktop CPUs, it was to be expected for the first systems featuring these components to make their way onto the market during CES. And sure enough, they did, one of the first system developers and integrators to launch some gaming systems based on the new CPUs being CyberPower.
The fresh
CyberPower Gamer Xtreme line of desktop gaming machines is designed to complement the company's Core i5 and i7 offerings, but also to appeal more to customers on a tighter budget. The series includes eight new models, based on Intel’s Core i3-530 and Core i3-540 processors.
The first model in the series is the Gamer Xtreme 1000, which combines the Intel Core i3-530 with an Intel H55 Chipset, 4GB DDR3 memory, an NVIDIA GT 220 1GB GPU, 500GB HD and DVDRW unit. Pricing for the Xtreme 1000 model starts at around $649.
Next in line comes the Xtreme 2000 model, which features a superior GPU (NVIDIA GT 240), as well as a 1TB HDD, while pricing starts at $719. The 3000 model, on the other hand, marks some more serious changes, the i3-530 CPU being paired with an Intel P55 Chipset and an ATI Radeon 5750 1GB GPU. Pricing for this model starts at $819.
The Xtreme 4000 retains the same basic configuration, but features an ATI Radeon 5770 1GB GPU, as well as a serious increase in the starting price point ($965). The Xtreme 4200 brings yet another important change, the system featuring a Core i3-540 CPU, as well as an ATI Radeon 5850 1GB GPU.
The Xtreme 5200 version retains the CPU and chipset, but
pushes the amount of available RAM memory to 8GB, while also featuring NVIDIA GTX 285 2GB graphics, with the starting price being set at $1295. Then, the 3000 SE model bumps back down the RAM to 4GB, but enhances the GPU (NVIDIA GTX 295) and the amount of storage space (1.5 TB).
The Gamer Xtreme 5000 and 6000 models are the top performers of the new Xtreme series by CyberPower, featuring 2x NVIDIA GTX 275 in SLI (the 5000) and ATI Radeon 5870 1GB (the 6000) GPUs, 1TB of storage space, as well as 8GB of DDR3 memory and Blu-ray drives. Pricing for these systems starts at $1,475 and $1,489, respectively.
