In case you have lost a lot of nights' sleep over what solution Samsung would use to power its P3 Portable Media Player Innovative Interface, tonight, you will rest assured. This is a slow week for gadgets, so we'll take what we can, right, guys?
The Cypress TrueTouch touchscreen solution allows OEMs to utilize single-touch or multi-touch gestures in order to control an application. Basically, tapping it in order to launch it, rotating and pinching pictures or scrolling down an e-mail. The P3 has a 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen TFT-LCD with a 16:0 aspect ratio. Its EmoTure (I don't think I would like an Emo-anything) interface allows the device to “react” to every command with a variety of physical sensations.
Made with the user in mind, the P3 even has a “Music Hot Touch Key,” meant to allow users to access their favorite music files almost instantly, without going through multiple menus. Based on projected capacitive touchscreen technology, Cypress's TrueTouch solution offers numerous benefits over normal touchscreens. Benefits such as clarity, durability, reliability or cost-effective implementation of multi-touch features thanks to its PsoC system-on-chip architecture that allows for single touch, multi touch and multi touch all point solutions.
Cypress is known for offering a variety of solutions, such as the PsoC programmable system-on-chip, USB controllers or programmable clocks and memories, plus wired and wireless connectivity like its CyFi Low-Power RF solution or the EZ-USB FX2LP controller.
Nothing can be said about Samsung that you do not already know. It established itself as a leader in consumer electronics technology and design a long time ago. With such parents, the P3 will have a lot to prove.
We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is
