As the amount of information available raises, small and medium businesses start to fell the need for a networked storage solution that should be able to ease file sharing among their employees, so Data Robotics built the DroboPro FS which should provide ease of use, affordability, self-healing data protection, and expandability to its SMB clients.
Despite its fancy name and appearance the DroboPro FS is a actually a storage matrix that can be attached to your
network via a Gigabit Ethernet and provides users with eight bays for installing SATA hard drives.
This offers users the ability to increase their storage capacity by simply inserting a new HDD into the DroboPro, this device also coming with a special Drobo Sync application that will automatically backup all data to another DroboPro FS storage array.
Automated thin provisioning is also available as well as redundant network connections in order to improve your data's availability.
"We are reinventing
storage solutions that meet the specific requirements of small business owners," said Tom Buiocchi, chief executive officer, Data Robotics.
"Your typical small business needs data storage and protection, but has limited budget and technical resources.
We provide the smart alternative to the overly complex and expensive solutions being offered.
The DroboPro FS delivers ease of use, functionality, and affordability that many small businesses did not know could exist in a single solution."
Easy to use and functional this may as well be, but I don't think affordable is the best term to describe the DroboPro FS since there are solution such as
Segate's BlackArmor NAS 440 that offer similar features for a fraction of the price, this device starting at $1,999 without any drives installed while the 16TB version will set you back $3,299.
