Don't you just love it when a company takes a technology that has been widely available for quite some time, uses in some of their products and then claims a breakthrough in the respective field, this being just what Dell has done with its latest series of laser LED printers.

If you are not familiar with LED printing then I should point it to you this has actually been available for quite some time, companies like Brother, Kodak, Oki as well as Casio (the inventor of LED laser printing technology) having quite a few solutions based on this technology.

Compared to regular laser printers, the LED technology allows manufacturers to use fewer moving parts, leading to faster rates of print while also being cheaper to manufacture and a lot more reliable.

All of these features come at the expense of picture quality, most LED printers being limited to 600 dpi, forcing manufacturers to lean towards skewed resolutions, a solution that provides mixed results depending on the images being printed.

Now that we got that cleared let's move on to Dell's new printers, the company releasing six new laser printers, including the world's smallest A4/Letter color laser solution, the 1250c, that is destined towards small business or home office users.

Moving on, we get another “world's smallest,” this time the smallest color laser network printer.

Dubbed the 1350cn/w, this Wi-Fi-enabled solution can print up to 15 pages per minute in mono mode similarly to the 1355cn/w AIO, the world’s smallest 4-in-1 multifunction color laser printer (that's the last one, I promise).

Finally we have the 2150cn/cdn, 2155cn/cdn AIO and 3130cn printer that are targeted towards medium businesses and workgroups.

“Dell is committed to helping small businesses and workgroups maximize every resource as they strive for business growth,” said Tim Griffin, vice president Consumer, Small and Medium Business Services and Solutions, Dell.

“With our industry-leading LED color printers, customers no longer have to compromise when it comes to print technology.

They can rest assured they’re receiving a powerful combination of speed, quality, energy efficiency and size which translates into increased productivity and exceptional value.”

Pricing wise, the 1250c and 1350cnw are available for order today at $229 and $329 respectively while the 1355cn/w will be available for order November 16 at $399 and $449 if you want Wi-Fi connectivity.

The 2150cn/cdn is available for $349, while the 2155cn/cdn as well as the 3130cn will set you back $549.
