I am seriously considering getting a touchscreen
monitor. I mean, it is quite obvious that the future is bright in what concerns multitouch technology, so why not upgrade earlier to be a bit ahead of the curve, so to speak. Especially with cool new monitors such as
Dell's SX2210T showing up. Curious what this Windows 7 compatible (I just had to say it) multitouch capable monitor has to offer? So am I, therefore I will conclude my introduction.
Well, the Dell SX2210T sports a 21.5-inch panel, a 2-megapixel webcam and microphone, as well as HDMI and DVI inputs. Response time has been measured at 2ms and there's a 1,000:1 contrast ratio being mentioned. But the best is yet to come. Like I have mentioned above, the monitor is quite sensitive to your touch and will allow for multitouch gestures when paired with a certain operating system that will be launched tomorrow.
Best thing of all is that the device is being sold as we speak and will cost about 469 dollars, which isn't that much considering its size, capabilities and the fact that it is multitouch capable. In order to get the touch interface working, by the way, you will need a USB up stream cable that enables the webcam, USB ports and the monitor's touch function. And since most of us usually get the strange urge to touch them with our dirty fingers (usually accompanied by dirtier minds), there's also a cleaning cloth for... well... cleaning!
So, if you've been taken by the fever of what is Windows 7 but still haven't acquired yourself a multitouch capable monitor, what say you take a look at the Dell SX2210T? You might just have found what you were looking for.
