As you've been able to see throughout yesterday, Microsoft's finally decided to announce the lineup of smartphones that will run Microsoft's latest mobile OS, Windows Phone 7, with just about every major partner releasing quite a few phones (HTC – 5 new models, while Samsung and LG rolled out 2 new smartphones each), Dell being the latest to join this group with their Venue Pro slider.
Announced as a hardware partner early on, Dell has managed to do quite an interesting job with their Venu Pro handset,
formerly known as Lightning.
The device comes equipped with a 4.1-inch WVGA AMOLED capacitive, multi-touch display that slides up to reveal a full portrait QWERTY keyboard to provide a better viewing & messaging experience.
Additional hardware will include (most likely, though this is not confirmed) a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, accompanied by a 5MP digital camera with HD video recording capabilities.
Moreover, Dell claims that the elliptical, slender form provides elegance in a pocket-friendly size, while the Gorilla Glass screen will provide an enhanced level of durability and scratch resistance.
The Dell Venue Pro will only be available from T-Mobile (though not through the carrier's own stores, but rather through Dell's retail chain) in time for the Holidays, but no specific pricing and availability information has been provided thus far.
