Before I could afford purchasing a widescreen HDTV and a serious set-top player to go with it, I used to employ my trusty PC for just about everything, from working to playing a movie and from listening to music to engaging in all sorts of PC games. And since there still are quite a large number of people out there who do the same, the Japanese company Dospara has come up with an all-new Full HD LCD PC monitor, the Prime TW235FHD model, which offers some pretty impressive features, without going too high with the price point.
So, what we're dealing with here is a 23.5-inch unit featuring a non-gloss display surface and, as mentioned above, delivers a Full HD, 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. The response speed is also quite good (5 ms), and the same can be said about the viewing angles, namely 170 degrees on the horizontal direction, and 160 degrees on the vertical one.
Moreover, the monitor sports a 300 cd/m2 brightness level, plus a 1000:1 contrast ratio (10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio) and 16,7 million colors, as well as a 0.272mm x 0.272mm pixel pitch. Dimensions are pretty standard for a peripheral of this type, the monitor measuring 555.6 x 406.3 x 200.0 mm, at an overall weight of 5.3 kilos.
One of the most interesting features this thing has to offer is related to the area of
connectivity, Dospara's LCD PC monitor having both a classic VGA interface and no less than two HDMI connectors, meaning that one can even hook up a Blu-ray player to it in the easiest possible manner. As mentioned right from the start, the price of the new Dospara device is a very interesting one, the Prime TW235FHD LCD PC monitor selling for somewhere in the vicinity of 19,800 Yen (144 Euro), sadly, just on the Japanese market, at least for the time being.
