Nice box design. $150 you say?

I have to confess, I have no clue about who Dr. Dre is. Seriously. But after a few Google searches I recognized some of his songs and videos and understood why someone would want to brand a newly released set of in-ear headphones with his name: to jack up the price. Don't get me wrong, they seem to be of pretty high quality, but most likely not quite worthy of the price tag the manufacturer is asking for them.

The headphones are manufactured by Monster Cable and are part of the company's Beat series. Using an almost unique design, with a 4-foot flat cable complimented by the Duraflex jacket, the headphones are meant to be tangle free. Personally, I can dig that as my current headphones are a disaster when I just shove them in my pocket and then try to use them again.

The overall design is wierd.

Monster Cable have also integrated some of their sound enhancement technologies, trying to provide users with the best sound experience possible. So you should know that if your music is weak, it's not the MicroStand conductors and gold connectors that should be blamed for that, but probably one's cheap MP3 player.

So you can just go and buy yourself an iPod since Apple's store is actually were the headphones were first sighted. Apple couldn't help to throw in its auto-volume-regulator Sound Check technology. This is meant to save your ears from those awful volume spikes and at the same time improve sound reproduction. If the volume goes outside the range of the headphone, the sound gets distorted, so by regulating the volume, music will actually sound better.

The bundled carrying case.

Bundled with 3 sizes of eartips, 3 pairs of Airlocks (for sound insulation) and a quality carrying case, the entire package can be purchased via Apple's store for the rather high price of $150.
