It seems that Epson has decided to go on an all-out product launch bonanza at this year's CEDIA show, bringing quite a large number of new additions to its various projector lines, including the two devices we'll talk about as follows, the PowerLite Pro Cinema 9350 and 9700 UB, two native 1080p home theater projectors.
The Pro Cinema 9350 and 9700 UB target mostly professional installers and their customers and provide contrast ratios up to 50,000:1 and 200,000:1, respectively, while also coming equipped with some professional-level color tools, including ISF calibration and color isolation, allowing installers and calibrators to fine-tune picture quality and match output with front projection screens.
The Pro Cinema 9350 is enclosed in a black and silver case and features
Epson's C2Fine chip set for higher contrast of up to 50,000:1 for amazing color and detail.
The projector incorporates an exclusive Dynamic Iris system which also contributes to the improvement in contrast by controlling light on a frame-by-frame basis at up to 60 times per second.
In addition, the Pro Cinema 9350 offers higher brightness of up to 2,000 lumens color and white light output.
As the step-up model, the Pro Cinema 9700 UB adds several technology enhancements, sporting a dual-layered auto-iris to control light reduction rates more effectively, as well as Epson's D7 chip set and UltraBlack technology to produce good quality images.
And with brightness of 1,600 lumens color and white light output, the
projector delivers deep blacks and crystal clear detail.
The Pro Cinema 9700 UB also offers Epson's Super-resolution technology for enhanced picture quality and FineFrame technology for smoother frame interpolation, sharper video quality and the elimination of judder.
The projector also includes a built-in Silicon Optix HQV Reon-VX video processor and PW390 scaler to ensure a smoother picture.
In addition, the Pro Cinema 9700 UB offers pre-set color space selection to set color gamut according to geography and source material and is now usable with two types of anamorphic lenses (fixed and movable sled) to project true 2.35:1 and 2.40:1 widescreen images without black bars above and below the picture.
"Today's home theater market is extremely competitive, and Epson is committed to developing high-quality, high-performing products that help the custom installation channel stay ahead of the game," said Marge Ang, senior product manager, Epson America.
"We are continuing to pack our Pro Cinema projectors with a slew of value-add features, technology and service in order to deliver the programs and initiatives dealers need to help drive sales," Epson's official added.
