Although Windows 7 hasn't managed to impress any of the first tier manufacturers as a tablet operating system, many small producers out there are racing to get their Windows 7 running slates on the market, ExoPC's 11.6 inch tablet coming as a truly global offering since quite a few retailers announced they will carry this thing, under different names of course.
But whatever the name may be, all these offerings feature the exact same hardware configuration, ExoPC's slate coming in with an Intel Atom N450 processor clocked at 1.66 GHz, 2 GB DDR2 RAM memory and 32 GB or 64 GB of solid state storage.
Other features include a Crystal HD video controller that is able to handle 1080p content, a 1366x768 multitouch screen, 802.11 b/g/n wireless connectivity as well as two USB ports, an SD card reader and a mini-HDMI output.
A SIM card tray is also included in the 3G model, the magnesium alloy chassis housing a front facing 1.3MP webcam for video conferencing.
Software wise, ExoPC built a special touch-friendly interface on top of Windows 7 UI, that seems to be really responsive, a definite improvement over the classic Win 7 desktop that I don't find particularly well suited for a tablet (check out the video bellow if you don't believe me).
As far as pricing goes, the ExoPC is starting at $599 US in Canada as the Ciara Vibe, while Europe (Portugal to be more precise) will get this as the Mobi One that will be available for the equivalent of $965 US. (via ubergizmo)
