Up until now, we've seen quite a few GPS-enabled devices targeting golf players arrive on the market, most of them delivering all sorts of advanced functions and maps of numerous golf courses (typically around the US). However, most of these products have somewhat of a serious problem, namely the fact that they're restricted to the golf course and become useless once the golfer packs his gear and prepares to go home.

[ADMARK=1Nevertheless, a new company called Expresso has just come up with a solution that combines the best of both worlds, allowing users to receive clear and accurate directions both on the course and on the road. The respective product is called AG1
and is touted as being the world’s first portable navigation device featuring automotive and golf GPS in addition to a fully functional Portable Media Player.

Partnering with NAVIGON and iGolf, two well-established brands in the GPS marketplace, Expresso delivers the AG1 with a wide array of advanced features including: NAVIGON turn-by-turn directions on the road, iGolf rangefinder, portable media player, wide Mobile HD touch screen, dual stereo speakers, automatic portrait and landscape switching, dual SD card slots, articulating screen, 533 MHz Samsung Processor, and 5-way mounting capabilities. In fact, the unified vehicle mounting system incorporated into the AG1 eliminates the need for bulky accessories such as bean bag dash mounts and suction cup windshield mounts that can create unsightly blind spots.

“With collaborations between multiple GPS industry-leaders along with thousands of hours spent in intensive R&D, Expresso is excited that the AG1 has created an entirely new category of portable navigation products,” said Mike Aroney, Managing Director of Expresso Satellite Navigation, Ltd.

The new AG1 from Expresso will become officially available in July, and that's also when we'll find out more about its price tag.
