There are many people out there simply not willing to settle for the usually not impressive level of quality delivered by most earphones and headphones, and they wish to add a little extra “oomph” to their music. Apparently, this is exactly what the Fiio E5 Headphone Amplifier presented by Brando is able to deliver, the vendor boasting about the fact that this thing will radically change one's audio experience (as long as it’s related to headphones, of course).

Practically, what we're dealing with here is a portable amplifier designed to improve the sound quality and volume of any digital audio player, whether we're talking about mobile phones, laptops, notebooks, MP3 players and/or MP4 players. Apparently, the device manages to do so by boosting the audio volume, and also by applying some filters that improve the level of sound clarity delivered by such products.

The device comes equipped with an individual power switch, as well as an electronic volume control system (which translates into very low distortion and the capability of avoiding the adjustment noise caused by a potentiometer). It also sports two sound effects, namely flat and bass boost mode, and a built-in rechargeable battery, which gives about 20 hours of playtime at normal volume and can be easily juiced up again via the included miniUSB charger port.

Other features worth talking about are the output power, 150 mW (16Ω loaded) or 16 mW (300Ω loaded), the Signal to Noise Ratio, which is bigger than 95 dB (A Weight), the distortion level, which is below 0.009% (10 mW), as well as the 10 Hz - 100 kHz frequency response. Plus, at 44 x 38 x 13mm and weighing just around 24 grams, this audio accessory is extremely easy to carry around.

The Fiio E5 Headphone Amplifier presented by Brando is not exactly what we might call an extremely expensive product, since it sells for somewhere in the vicinity of 30 US dollars, for which users will also get two audio cables, one Mini USB Cable and one User's Manual.
