Aten has recently unveiled five new console extenders that joined forces with the company's comprehensive console extender lineup, delivering
a multitude of uses for manufacturing-centric organizations, as well as construction sites, warehouse, brick and mortar retail locations, SMBs and SOHOs. These new and space-saving console extenders, that take advantage of CAT5 cabling, will enable customers to control a server or KVM switch from a convenient remote location, especially away from the secure and loud server environments.
"In the realm of connectivity products, one of the most overlooked, yet valuable, tools in the arsenal of the network administrator is the console extender," explained Sampson Yang, CEO, ATEN. "Our R&D teams researched an array of vertical markets and realized that our expanded line of console extenders could fill a centralized management void that would offer an array of commercial and consumer uses."
Now available, the Aten console extenders range in pricing between $200 and $700, and include the CE700A, that you can see depicted above to your left, the CE750, CE770, CE800B and CE790 USB console extenders. The first is a USB-based console extender that can handle an access extension to a computer or USB KVM from up to 152 meters,
while also providing a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 achievable at 30 meters.
The CE750 can suit needs regarding distances of up to 198 meters away, with a maximum resolution of 1,600 x 1,200, ensured at the maximum cable distance. More to this, it also packs an RS-232 port for serial devices like barcode scanners or touch screens. CE770 can go as far as 300 meters, while maintaining the 1,920 x 1,200 resolution if under 152 meters.
The CE800B is the USB extender that can be distanced as far as 250 meters from the computer or USB KVM, supporting a resolution of 1,600 x 1,200, over the full length. Last but not least, the CE790, an IP-based console extender, packing automatic cable detection, enables computer access over a remote USB console anywhere on the Intranet, thus eliminating distance limitations.
