In a lot of situations, children and young people are the ones actually driving the adoption of the latest developments in the field of consumer electronics, and with this in mind, Franklin Electronics has just announced the development of a brand-new interactive reader for kids called the AnyBook Reader.
Although one might be tempted to believe that we're dealing with yet another eBook reader, the truth of the matter is that the device from Franklin is fairly different, as it allows children to actually “listen” to their parents reading a certain story.
The
device is apparently extremely easy to use, since one will only have to pick a book, sticker each page, then, page by page, tap the sticker with the AnyBook Reader and read and record each page.
Then, as the child taps any sticker in "AnyBook" with the Reader, he/she hears their parent read that same page out loud.
AnyBook Reader comes in two models that differ by memory size, namely model DRP-3000 that allows you to record up to 15 hours of your
voice and retails for $39.99 and model DRP-4000 allows you up to 60 hours of content and retails for $59.99.
"Franklin has always been known for its commitment to education, specifically in language and
reading skills.
We believe in simple solutions that everyone can afford and today we're proud to be able to touch even our youngest readers.
With AnyBook Reader, we've developed an engaging two-way communication device that by nature is interactive and personalized," says Barry J. Lipsky, president and chief executive officer of Franklin Electronic Publishers.
