FujiFilm USA has just announced today the availability of its Instax Mini 7S Instant Camera and Instax Mini Instant Colour Film to the US market. This is a solution for the on-the-go photographer or photo enthusiast who is looking for an instant film solution, both compact and lightweight.
The Instax
instant camera series from FujiFilm is more famous around Asia and Europe, but has allegedly helped in generating a loyal follow-up in the United States, more in the last year that is. This new Instax Mini 7S features an electronically controlled shutter and built-in flash for low-light conditions.
"Once we introduced the Instax 200 Instant Film Camera System to professional and commercial markets in the U.S. late last year, we immediately began to receive inquiries about the availability of additional Instax cameras for the consumer market," said Kayce Baker, director of marketing, Professional Markets, Imaging Division, FUJIFILM U.S.A., Inc. "We believe the portability, chic design and print quality will be exactly what consumers are looking for in an instant photo solution that doesn’t require any auxiliary printing device."
The
built-in flash is only automatic with no settings available, while the electronic shutter is fixed at 1/60th of a second and there is also an LED exposure indicator. That's about it with details about the camera itself; however, there are a few details about the film as well. The ISO speed is 800, which is good for dim-light scenarios, but still it offers a sharp and clear reproduction with vivid color and natural skin tones. Pricing is set at the very affordable point, with an MSRP of $95.99 for the Instax Mini 7S Instant Film camera, while a 10-pack of Instax Mini Instant film has an MSRP of $19.99.
