Not that much time has passes since Microsoft's CEO Steve Ballmer said that by this years end the very first tablets to run Windows 7, built by an important manufacturer, will make their appearance, and now I can certainly say for sure that Fujitsu won't be the one to build them unless Ballmer settles for some mockups with Windows 7 desktop stickers instead of screens, cause that is what Fujitsu showcased during CEATEC.
Yes, you read that right, none of the so called tablets showcased by Fujitsu at CEATEC 2010 in Japan were real, these actually being just some pretty mockups with printed
Windows 7 desktop stickers that wanted to mimic a Windows 7 interface.
To make matters worse, Fujitsu hasn't presented any specs, or things of that sort, so all we can do at this time is take a guess about what kind of hardware or operating systems will these things run, my bet going for a Intel Atom processor together with Windows 7 Embedded.
Of course, these could also prove to be just vaporware since
Fujitsu hasn't even named the mockups (probably they don't want to get to emotionally attached to them).
End of it all I would have to say that I am not at all impressed with you Fujitsu so you have to try harder if you want my attention.
After all, I am sure that I can do as good of a job at designing my own tablet as you, if not actually a far better one, right in the middle of my living room. (via
