After
only yesterday releasing their high capacity SDXC card, today, SanDisk is bringing out another product fit for the digital lifestyle of the present time gadgeteer. This time, a storage device still in the portable solution category, more precisely in the SSD category, the SandDisk G3 Solid State Drive.
“Our rugged drive enables a superior customer experience by delivering extended endurance and fast performance in a resilient SSD design,” said Eric Bone, vice president, retail product marketing, SanDisk. “SanDisk believes in an uncompromising development approach which insists that an SSD's long term reliability and durability are just as important as its overall speed. We’re leveraging our long history of flash memory and retail expertise to bring the SanDisk G3 SSD to market.
Right now, I am mostly done with the description of the
new SSD by SanDisk, which is quite the standard model, as we can deduct from the information that officials are providing. The 120 GB SSD that SanDisk has baptized G3 is more reliable over time because of a smart flash management system that SanDisk has used when manufacturing it.
The ExtremeFFS is especially compatible with the Windows XP and Windows 7 operating systems, so if the G3 is used under these, it
will last for longer periods of time, just in case anybody thinks that they will buy the G3 and it will be the last SSD hard drive they'll ever purchase.
It is also compatible with the Snow Leopard Apple OS, but there are no guarantees that it will last for the ten-year period that it is warranted at in some areas. Also, the SanDisk G3 is available in a 60 GB version and producers say it offers 220 Mbps read speeds and a maximum of 120 Mbps writing speed, in optimal conditions.
The 60 GB G3 costs $229.99 and the double sized 120 GB model costs $399.99 USD.
