You know, I've been writing about LED lighting for a long time now and I am sorry to say I haven't paid any attention to other devices used in lighting appliances such as CFL bulbs. I mean, each comes with its own advantages and disadvantages, right? Well, it is about time I told you about
GE's Reveal CFL light bulbs. Namely the latest in GE's Reveal family of bulbs, originally introduced by GE in the year 2001.
These new CFL bulbs feature a “twisted” shape and last as much as eight times longer than older versions of the CFL light bulbs. That's not all, by the way, since GE has made it quite clear that it will be using up to 75 percent less energy than a standard incandescent Reveal bulb. Speaking of standard incandescent bulbs, the new Reveal CFL bulbs use a special patented phosphor that tries to make colors look brighter, hotter and all-round great.
The GE Reveal CFL bulbs are now available at 40, 60, 75 and 100-watt equivalents and feature instant-on capability. As far as pricing goes, retailers are free to determine their own resale price so I haven't one that's set in stone, if you catch my drift. While I remain
a true LED fanboy, those of you searching for some good CFL lighting to brighten the mood in his or her house slash apartment might want to check these babies out.
For those of you that do not know, CFL is short for Compact Fluorescent Lamp. You might know them as energy saving light. Designed to replace incandescent lamps, CFL lighting devices can be fitted into most light fixtures that are normally used for incandescent lamps. It takes a while to get used to the lighting, though.
