In case you have been wondering what specifications MSI’s new gaming notebook has, wonder no more! MSI has sat down with the press and talked a bit about the monster it is building in its labs. Sporting a 17-inch WUXGA HD display, the notebook has a 2.53GHz Intel Penryn P9500 processor, as well as the new ATI Radeon HD 4850 512 MB graphics adapter. New for gaming notebooks, I mean.
Supporting up to 4GB of RAM and, of course, having a Blu-ray drive, you can be sure that you'll be viewing any type of media file at high quality, as well as playing most videogames at high quality without worrying about low fps or compatibility issues. Just in case there's a new game out there requiring some new type of connection or device, rest assured for MSI has given the GT725 Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, gigabit Ethernet and a 4-in-1 memory card reader, plus three USB 2.0 ports, a combo eSATA/USB port, Firewire, HDMI, VGA and audio in/out ports, not to mention an ExpressCard slot.
The sound is provided by a four-speaker setup and a subwoofer; a 9-cell battery should offer a medium runtime, although MSI is not exactly open in that department. You also have one-touch Turbo Drive Overclocking control in case you need a little extra juice from your machine. I strongly doubt that.
Again, good news comes at a price, since this very classy, powerful mobile gaming rig will be available for 1.449.99$. A little too much for some, but understandable if we think of what this notebook can do. I've seen a lot of gaming stations in my time and there's one thing that connects at least eighty percent of them: they are all black with red stripes. I'm curious - is the combination of black and red that attractive to the passionate gamer?
