I don't know about you, my friends, but when I think about wrist worn GPS navigators I think about Hansel and Gretel or any other such characters that helped sweeten our childhood. Take Hansel and Gretel, for example, you think that... if they had had the new Foretrex 301 and Foretrex 401 Garmin GPS navigators... they would have fared better than with breadcrumbs? You can bet your house on it, my friends! Don't believe me? Keep on reading.

The 401 and 301 GPS navigators integrate a highly sensitive GPS receiver (WAAS-enabled), as well as a USB interface, making them the perfect devices to be used by skiers, campers, military personnel or hikers around the world. I can't say anything about skiers or military personnel but as a person that does a lot of hiking and camping in the wilderness, these devices really come in handy.

Thanks to HotFix technology, the new Foretrex navigators search and maintain satellite reception no matter where you are, whether you are deep in the woods or even deeper in some large canyons. It monitors everything from routes to tracks to waypoints and can retrace your path way back to the point of origin with the TracBack feature. Want a trip computer, a sunrise/sunset and hunting and fishing information device? The Foretrex 301 and 401 models are all that and more.

Oh, and when you're home, connect one to your PC or Mac via the USB connection. The 401 version even has an electronic compass and a barometric altimeter. They are powered by two AAA batteries, weigh just 3 ounces and have up to 18 hours of battery life (for the 301) and 17 hours for the 401, respectively. No price or release dates as of yet but I will let you know them as soon as they are revealed.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
