Surprising as it may seem, Gateway has been slow to make the move towards LED backlit panels when it comes to their monitor line, but the company has recently announced three new models that feature LED backlighting, using up to 68% less energy compared to their previous CCFL models.
Dubbed the FHX2152L, FHD2303L and FHX2402L these new monitors come in 21.5”, 23” and 24” sizes, respectively, all of them boasting
1920x1080 resolution and 250 cd/m2 brightness.
HDCP is also standard on all these new models, as well as VGA or DVI inputs, although a HDMI port is available only on the 21.5 inch and 24 inch offerings, the Gateway FHX series models featuring 2ms response times panels while the FHD
monitor has to settle for a somewhat slower 5ms response time.
Although it can't compete with its older siblings when you take a look at the spec list, the Gateway FHD2303L does come with a special design that features an asymmetrical stand, although I do have to wonder how stable this thing actually is.
“These new Gateway monitors give consumers a choice in style and functionality when choosing a monitor for their home or office,” said Irene Chan, senior product marketing manager for peripherals, Acer America.
“All three models offer advanced display technology that meets a wide variety of viewing needs combined with the power-saving features and an eco-friendly design that are important to today’s consumers.”
The Gateway FHX2152L, FHD2303L and FHX2402L displays will be available sometime this month for $249.99, $249.99, $189.99, respectively.
