Have you ever heard of Genius? For those of you who haven't, I'll just inform you that they are a more or less well-known manufacturer of PC peripherals, dealing with all kinds of scanners, mice, webcams, audio equipment and pen tablets. Although the company may have left at least some of these categories behind it, it doesn't really mean that it can't bring new concepts onto the market.
Genius has announced that it will be expanding its product range at CES 2009. The company will show off two new concept devices developed for the modern users. One of them comes in the form of a 2.4GHz Wireless (not Wi-Fi) Stereo System. While this isn't really something new and it is only a “concept” for Genius, it may be excused by the fact that there aren't quite that many devices of this type available on the market. The system features a 3-part form factor: two satellites and a subwoofer. The wireless range can reach 100 meters and the system also comes with a 3.5mm input audio jack, making it compatible with almost any audio source.

The second concept product is actually an IP camera, going by the name of IP Cam 350TR. Genius states that this camera is equipped with the most advanced night vision technology (somehow, I believe that's only reserved for the CIA or FBI) and is designed to secure any room. When the light sensor detects that the light goes down to a certain level, it automatically turns on 6 infrared LEDs, allowing for video footage to be captured in the dark. A non-visible microphone has also been fitted onto the camera, so if the intruders talk to each other, you'll be able to know what they say.
Although there are clearly not exactly innovative in any way, and other companies have had such devices for quite some time, it looks like Genius is still going to give it a shot by launching these products somewhere in 2009. Of course, since these are still in the concept phase, pricing and availability information has not been provided yet.
