As I was quite deprived of sleep these past days (wonder why), I kind of like this next product that I have found, namely the WakeMate. Ironic, isn't it? I complain about sleep deprivation and I like a product that wakes one up.
Nevertheless, this is not just an alarm clock or something alike, but actually a wristband that will aid you both sleep better and, most importantly, wake up better and on time.
By time am I not referring to physical time, but the clinical time, if I can say so, because as we sleep, scientists claim (I have no idea whatsoever about this, I just quickly documented it) that about once every 20 minutes, an optimal wake up point occurs. What the WakeMake does is to monitor you while you sleep, gather information, of course, and wake you up right in the optimum moment within a 20-minute window, set by you on the proprietary iPhone application (too bad I don't have one).
When you wake up, you can even view the analyzed data that gets automatically uploaded to the company's servers and detailed so that you can see your sleeping pattern. You will even get a sleep score for the respective night, and a quote whether it was good or not for you, as well as advice on how to improve your sleeping if need be. That can only happen after multiple nights, when the gathered data is enough to identify sleeping trends in your patterns, in order to
provide personalized instruction on how to enhance your sleep.
It will give you feedback based only on your body's natural sleeping patterns, such as telling when and how long to sleep for getting the most efficient and restful sleep possible. I really wonder whether this works for a usually five-hour-per-night sleeping pattern. Shipping is expected to happen by January 25, 2010, with pre-orders already available, for a mere $5 and $44.99 more when shipped.
