Not so long ago we wrote about Getac's V200 convertible notebook that packed a really fast Core i7 processor and a bunch of other interesting features inside a really rugged case, the company announcing today a new device, this time a laptop, based on the same processor, that also features much of the same options available in the V200.
Built inside a MIL-STD-810G certified enclosure that also comes with a IP65 rating for protection from water and dust, the notebook can be configured with either a 700 NITs or a 1400 NITs display that includes Getac's own QuadraClear technology allowing users to viewing it in extreme lighting conditions such as direct sunlight.
Other options include a dual battery, that provides up to 22 hours of autonomy on a single charge, a Gobi 2000 mobile broadband modem, Bluetooth, WLAN, GPS and 3G conncetivity options while the Intel vPro technology and finger print reader come as standard on all the units together with the capability of operating in -20 degrees Celsius environments.
"With the latest
Intel Core i7 Processor, an even brighter QuadraClear Display and Gobi 2000 mobile broadband technology options, the B300 is ideally suited for the most demanding jobs,” said Jim Rimay, president of Getac.
“We took one of the industry’s most popular
rugged notebook computers and made it even better.”
Much like the V200 before it, this too sounds like one really impressive device, although the $3,799 base price surely won't fit everybody's pockets.
