I'm pretty sure that a lot of you have heard about Antoni Gaudi, but those of you who don't should know that he was perhaps one of the world's greatest architects and the genius behind some of Barcelona's most beautiful buildings. For this reason, naming an entry-level digital photo frame after this great person is a bit strange, especially since it's not the most attractive such product you've ever seen.
The “masterpiece” of Japanese company
GreenHouse, the Gaudi digital photo frame is as plain as these things get, featuring a “blank” look, with a simple white frame around the display.
Now, leaving aside for a moment the look of the Gaudi photo frame, let's move on to its features, which, as mentioned before, are not exactly what one might call “fantastic.” Hence, what we're dealing with here is a 10.2-inch device, featuring a TFT LCD display able to deliver a 800x480 pixels resolution, as well as a 300:1 contrast ratio and 250 cd/m2 brightness level.
The device comes equipped with 2GB of internal storage memory, but this can always be improved via the built-in memory card reader, which supports the SD/SDHC/CF/MS/xD formats, the maximum compatible capacity being 32GB (for the SDHC format). Additionally, the
digital photo frame packs a USB connector, for hooking up a flash drive, plus a couple of on-board 0.5W speakers.
The reason why this thing features speakers becomes quite clear when we take a look at the list of supported file types, where, besides JPEG photos, we can also see MP3 (CBR/VRB), M-JPEG (AVI), MPEG1 and MPEG2 files. Plus, this thing ain't exactly the
slimmest digital photo frame out there, since it measures 252 x 41 x 168 (mm), and weighs somewhere in the vicinity of 780 grams.
For the time being, no pricing details for this photo frame have been made available, but given the fact that there are numerous such devices available out there, the price point should be low enough.
We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
