Ever felt like your HP notebook would have been perfect if it only had a little more juice to keep it powered for longer periods of time? Yep, so did Boston-Power and HP, which have just launched their longer lasting, Ecolabel-certified battery technology codenamed Sonata.
This new Lithium-ion Ecolabel-Certified Sonata battery technology is said to deliver sustainable performance for three years, which is three times longer than batteries on most notebook computers. Such performance is hard to believe; therefore, to show its faith, HP has decided to provide a three-year warranty on all batteries using this technology. HP surely likes to be the first, doesn't it?
The fresh battery is available as an accessory to 18 existing HP notebook models (more than 70 percent of the maker’s consumer notebook portfolio) and is priced at 149.99 USD. The battery can be used with models such as the HP Pavilion, HP HDX, Compaq Presario and HP G series thanks to its “drop-in” form.
This battery is extremely eco-friendly and HP knows that, ““HP delivers customers innovative products that respect our planet”/“The Enviro Series program gives PC users longer lasting batteries that improve their computing experience while reducing the number of batteries that need to be recycled. That’s a win for everyone.” There is no better marketing slogan than eco-friendliness in an age when “green” is the predominant trend.
Boston-Power CEO Dr. Christina Lampe-Onnerud declared that “From the beginning, our goal has been to help notebook computer users benefit from optimal mobility with dependable, high-performance, environmentally sustainable batteries.” As for HP's role... “HP’s endorsement of Sonata is a great step forward in popularizing this battery technology.”
All in all, it's great that we have cleaner, more efficient and especially more eco-friendly batteries for our HP notebooks.
