New HT09 - affordable and quite interesting

In general, whenever we hear the term LCD HDTV set, the first thing that crosses our mind is the image of a huge device, measuring at least 100 inches in diagonal and proudly sitting right in the middle of a high-end home entertainment setup. However, that's not at all the case with the latest development from HANNspree, namely the HT09 model, which is touted by its manufacturers as being the world's first 28-inch LCD HDTV with full HD 1080p resolution.

Quite obviously, the LCD panel is the most important selling point of the HDTV from HANNspree, so this is exactly where we'll start. Thus, the device has a 28-inch diagonal (27.5 inches viewable), an aspect ratio of 16:10 (especially suitable for gaming purposes), and delivers a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels.

Its other features are also quite noteworthy, since we're dealing with a 2 ms gray-to-gray (GTG) response time, a brightness level of 500 cd/m2, plus a 3000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. The viewing angles are also rather good, namely 160 degrees on both horizontal and vertical directions.

Since it's been designed as a multi-function display, the HT09 has been equipped with multiple device inputs, including two HDMI ports, which allow users to connect it to additional consumer electronic devices such as a PCs, HD set-top boxes, gaming consoles, or a Blu-ray Disc players. With a built-in VGA port, the HT09 can also be used as monitor for a PC or notebook PC, especially since it also sports a PC audio input.

The audio system is also quite well-developed, since we're talking about 2 built-in speakers that deliver a maximum power of up to 5W x 2. Furthermore, the device is accompanied by a stylish remote control that allows users to program other consumer electronic devices such as DVD players or home entertainment centers.

The HANNspree HT09 has a very affordable price point, of just around 500 US dollars, which might make it extremely interesting for many consumers, especially during this year's Christmas shopping season, marked by an enhanced level of spending-caution.
