Without a doubt,
Acer was the “hero of the day” in terms of product launches a few weeks ago, when AMD unveiled to the world its brand-new, 2010 AMD Vision platform, which included a very large number of CPUs designed for mobile use. However, other system builders have started to pick up the pace as well, including here
HP, which has just rolled out (fairly under the radar, we might add) the Compaq Presario CQ62Z notebook that leverages the aforementioned platform and adds quite a few extras on the side.
So, what we're talking about here is a 15.6-inch notebook featuring a 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution and a matte-black exterior finish for a clean look that minimizes fingerprints. Nevertheless, one of the most commendable things about the new Presario is the fact that it supports a fairly extensive range of customization options, as far as the available hardware configuration is concerned.
So, in terms of CPU, users will be able to choose from the following available models: V-Series Processor for Notebook PCs V120 (2.2GHz, 512KB L2 Cache), Athlon II Dual-Core Processor for Notebook PCs N330 (2.3GHz, 1MB L2 Cache), Turion II Dual-Core Mobile Processor P520 (2.3GHz, 2MB L2 Cache), Phenom II Dual-Core Mobile Processor N620 (2.8GHz, 2MB L2 Cache) or Phenom II Triple-Core Mobile Processor N830 (2.1GHz, 1.5MB L2 Cache).
Furthermore, the
portable system will support up to 4GB of RAM memory, a maximum 500GB of storage space, a choice of Mobility Radeon HD 4250 integrated graphics or a Mobility Radeon HD545v discrete card, either a DVR writer or a Blu-ray unit, plus a 6-cell battery on top. There are plenty of connectivity options available as well, including here built-in Wi-Fi, microphone, and optional webcam, USB ports for connecting devices, an optional HDMI 1.3 port for connecting the PC to an external monitor or HD TV5 and an optional digital media card reader for transferring photos and other data.
Finally, the best thing about the new Presario is the fact that its pricing starts at a mere 380 US dollars, which makes it a very affordable product, overall.
