So, you want to get yourself
a portable media player but would rather not spend all your hard earned cash on just one device? I mean, sure “Christmas is a coming” and all that but what will you do after Christmas passes and you haven't any money left to buy yourself a piece of bread? But then again, you sure love your friend's touchscreen portable media player, don't you? Worry not, my friends, because I have just the right thing for you.
The new Haier Theatre player that has finally reached the shores of the United States of America. Though Haier's first touchscreen media player to have ever arrived in the United States is treated as a budget player (aka cheap and uninteresting), it is quite the device, with a capacitive touch screen that allows for better finger input, as well as an accelerometer that allows for the image to auto-rotate in order to be portrayed in landscape or portrait mode.
The Haier Theatre portable media player (PMP) has support for AAC, MP3, OGG and WMA audio playback and can playback files for as much as 12 hours. It can also display JPEG photos and MPEG-4 videos. But the best move on Haier's part is the native support for text files, allowing you to read e-books or basic notes. The Haier Theatre in its 4GB version will cost about 90 USD, while the 8GB version is 100 USD.
While I am not one that's keen on
media players of any kind, I can definitely see the Haier Theatre gaining quite the fanbase especially since most decent PMPs out there cost a huge and heavy bundle of your hard earned cash. Which is not cool, my friends, not cool at all.
