A division of OKI Electric Industry, OKI Networks has provided the city of Okazaki with an extended HD library that can even run through the local cable television transmission. For those of you that do not know this, Okaazaki City started using audio visual education about six years ago, so this improvement of their library with an HD compatible system is going to be very much
appreciated by the locals.
"We are proud to make a contribution to Okazaki City by upgrading its existing audio visual library system to high definition quality, which will enable more high definition content, featuring high-quality video and audio, to be carried. The timing of this is in line with the spread of terrestrial digital broadcasting in Japan," said Masasuke Kishi, President of OKI Networks. "We will continue to propose new communication infrastructures to Okazaki City to help it to re-assess its business processes and further increase productivity."
The city of Okaazaki has been relying on an OKI Networks server for about ten years. It is called OKI MediasServer. The company has just re-evaluated their server so that it fits the high demand in Okazaaki City. Not only that this server is providing essential content for the local schools, through its library that stores everything from
regional data to local events, but it is also a content provider for a regional cable television called “MICS.”
The new content form the Audio Visual Library is now in digital HD format, superior to the current local digital terrestrial networks. This content is delivered through a local
channel for four hours every day. It is strictly educational material that is also sent to schools for the same reasons. Not only can the students there benefit form high quality study materials, but also enjoy the better television quality that OKI Networks has provided through its High Definition Audio Visual Library Delivering System.
