The AirMan Tire Repair System

Getting a flat tire is one of the nastiest things a driver can be faced with, especially if the outside conditions are adverse. And believe me, changing a tire in a pouring rain, on the side of a very busy street on in the middle of winter is not exactly the greatest possible thing. Of course, you could always put the emergency lights on and call for professional help, but there's also an easier solution available at hand, namely the AirMan Tire Repair System.

This system, presented by Frontgate, provides two different functions under the same hood. Hence, first of all, the AirMan will fix the hole in your tire (usually, pretty small, since it's probably caused by some rogue splinter, nail or piece of glass) by injecting a special eco-friendly water-based sealant into it. The sealant will find its way to the rupture in the rubber material the tire is manufactured from and temporarily close it.

However, beside injecting the aforementioned sealant, the AirMan's built-in air compressor will simultaneously inflate the tire to the proper air pressure and get you going in a matter of minutes. Nevertheless, this is just an emergency solution, guaranteed to work for around 200 miles, so it's a good idea to stop by the first car shop you come across.

The AirMan Tire Repair System is also pretty easy to use, since all the driver in distress will have to do is simply plug the device into their car's 12V outlet, attach the hose, press a button, and watch the tire fully inflate. Plus, since this thing measures just around 1 x 4 x 8.5 inches (at a weight of 5.2 pounds) it will occupy a fairly small amount of space within one's car.

The AirMan sells for somewhere around 80 US dollars, which, by all accounts, is a very good price point, taking into account just how useful this thing could prove to be in one of the situations described in the beginning of this article.
