When I see this gadget, I can't help but think about those people over in China who often die or commit suicide because of the stress levels they are exposed to every single working day. There are cases when people's hearts giving in because of stress, all around the world and right here we have a gizmo that might put an end to this problem.
Developed by an Israeli company called IDesia, Ltd. and showcased at Computex, these new gimmicks are able to connect to a computer and to their user at the same time in order to give information about his/her stress levels. It is a biometric solution, which uses the company's BioDynamic Signature (BDS) technology in order to
monitor important changes in people's stress levels, by reading into their heart rates.
The gadget is capable of capturing electro physiological signals and analyzing them to determine the wearer’s mood.
GWL says it is capable of understanding the most subtle changes in a person's heat beat. All users have to do is grasp the two devices linked to a computer and the software this solution comes with will tell them whether they should take a break or not. In order for the software to be accurate, a user will have to complete a small digital form with information such as his/her age, gender, etc. Only after this data is introduced, the BDS can tell you whether you're stressed or not.
The good news is that IDesia, Ltd. is looking to increase their BDS' flexibility, by making it compatible with
mobile devices such as smartphones. This way, even field workers can monitor their stress levels and hopefully
mental exhaustion will no longer be a cause of death people across the planet. The manufacturers did not announce a price for BDS at Computex 2010 and not even afterwards, instead they promised they would be delivering it on the market sometime in Q4 this year.
We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is
