Without a doubt, the future of home entertainment is a wireless one, and for this reason, we're seeing plenty of wireless audio/video adapters being rolled onto the market lately, the latest being the Imation Link Wireless A/V Extender, designed to stream content from one's PC or Mac to a television or projector.
Using
ultra-wideband wireless USB 2.0, the Imation Link delivers significantly faster transfer speeds and lower power consumption than traditional WiFi, supporting high-definition video (up to 720p), high-resolution photos (up to 1080p) and stereo audio.
The Link’s sleek design includes an attractive, fin-shaped
receiver in glossy black that connects to one's TV or conference room projector using HDMI or VGA input.
The wireless transmitter connects to a standard USB port on a laptop or desktop and the Link also features a directional antenna for improved performance, enabling up to 30-feet of wireless line-of-site range.
“With Imation Link, you can watch your favorite movies
streaming online or from a DVD, keep up with the latest TV shows and videos from sites like YouTube and Hulu, play your favorite computer games, and even video chat with friends and family – all on a big screen,” said Jason Elles, global brand manager for Imation.
“And because the link uses wireless USB 2.0, an industry standard ultra-wideband technology, it is a reliable and secure way to stream digital audio and video assets, making it perfect for both home or business use,” Mr. Elles added.
The Imation Link is available at various distributors as we speak, the manufacturer’s suggested retail price being set at $149.99.
