Besides being a top contender on the home entertainment market, JVC is also one of the best-known manufacturers of various car accessories, whether we're talking about high-end audio systems for audiophile drivers or in-dash navigation/entertainment units. So, it's no wonder that the company presented at this year's CES a new product of this type, namely the NW-NT1, as well as an upgraded version of a previous model, the KW-NX7000.

The KW-NT1 comes packed with an advanced Intelligent Navigation system with Text-to-Speech, and a 6.1-inch detachable faceplate, as well as a high-quality DVD pick-up and mechanism. Moreover, it sports front mounted, full-speed USB 2.0 and AV-input connections, which allow drivers to connect their iPods / iPhones to the system. While they're connected, users can very easily control music playback either via the player or phone's touchscreen or via the KW-NT1's touchscreen, whichever comes more in handy.

Another interesting feature of the KW-NX7000 is the fact that it also doubles as a car speakerphone, due to the built-in Bluetooth technology. Besides supporting pairing with the driver's mobile phone, the device offers storage for phone book entries, plus previously dialed and received calls. Also provided is an on-screen Dial pad and “POI Touch Dialing,” which allows instant hands-free calling to Points of Interest which can been searched using the receiver’s internal POI listings.

Aside from the Intelligent Navigation system, which allows users to easily search for addresses and POIs, the device supports 3D Map viewing and excessive speed alerts. Plus, it incorporates an adaptive volume control system, MOS-FET 50W x 4, rear view camera input, J-BUS terminal, steering wheel remote ready, and gold-plated input and output terminals.

The KW-NT1 will be available in March at a MSRP of $1,099, which is by no means a small price, especially given the current state of the economy.

We've talked quite enough about the NW-NT1, now it's time to take a look at what the KW-NX7000 has to offer. So, in order to keep it at a competitive level for 2009, JVC is bundling its KW-NX7000 in-dash AV Navigation receiver with its KS-BTA200 Bluetooth adapter. Thus, the package, dubbed KW-NX7000BT, offers users a wide array of very attractive features, some of the most interesting being the DVD/CD/USB/SD playback support, 7-inch touch panel monitor with detachable panel, and proximity sensor, plus hands-free calling capability, wireless audio streaming with control, text message notification, phonebook transfer, and voice recognition dialing.

The KW-NX7000BT package is set to hit the shelves at some point in March, while customers will have to cough up around 1,200 US dollars in order to get it (plus the price of installing it in their vehicles, of course).
