As you've already been able to see from our various articles on this subject, JVC brought a very comprehensive lineup of new products for this year's CES, which includes numerous camcorders and headphones but, more importantly, a whole lot of
navigation and infotainment solutions for the car after-market segment. And this is also the topic we'll tackle as follows, namely that of the Japanese company's new KW-NT3HDT model, an all-in-one memory navigation system with built-in HD Radio.
Similar to most other solutions of this type available out there, the KW-NT3HDT offers drivers navigation features, various entertainment options but also important pieces of information. From this point of view, the StreetDirector Assistant function really comes in handy, since it offers the latest P.O.I. data from Google Maps.
The device also sports a built-in Bluetooth module, as well as an incorporated wired microphone, for clear communications. The Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP) for iPhone lets users automatically access their phone book without transfer, and users can also manually transfer up to 500 numbers from compatible cell phones.
Other features worth mentioning about
JVC's KW-NT3HDT include the detachable face panel, which grants an extra level of security, as well as the variable-color illumination of the front panel (in addition to eight presets and two user settings, 30,000 colors are available by RGB combination).
Besides quality digital sound,
HD Radio offers iTunes Tagging, a feature that lets users tag songs they hear on the radio for easy purchase at the iTunes Store. With both AUX and USB on the front panel, the KW-NT3HDT provides flexible entertainment options, letting drivers listen to their iPod/iPhone by a USB digital connection, or even enjoy videos with an optional KS-U29 cable. Connection for other digital audio players is available via the AUX input. The unit plays MP3 audio files from DVD/CD/USB/SD sources.
Another interesting feature provided by this AV Navigation solution from JVC is Adaptive Volume, which adjusts the volume level according to the car speed in four settings (off/low/mid/high), for both navigation and AV sound. And since we're on this issue, it's also interesting to note that the audio side of this system is pretty powerful, delivering 50W x 4 (20W RMS x 4) of pure audio power.
The KW-NT3HDT will become available on the market in March, the MSRP being set at a hefty $1,199.95.
