JVC Mobile Entertainment announced the addition of a broad new selection of Arsenal
Series speakers for both specialists and enthusiasts, and namely the Arsenal component speakers CS-ARS500, CS-ARS650 and CS-ARS680 that pack an illuminated crossover network, as well as a glass fiber laminated hemp cone. The more advanced Arsenal Series coaxial speakers CS-AR500, CS-AR650 and CS-AR690 are the ones to feature a tweeter voice coil that ensures a point source radiation and new box-in-line design for the crossover networks.
Now, before I get into the technical specifications, for a part of this series, let us take a look at the design and features. First of all, the slim design of the series will allow users to install them in a broader range of cars (that's good marketing), and is enabled by the use of neodymium magnets, along with aluminum frames. Even more, the CS-ARS650 and CS-ARS680 also include some adapters that enhance the range of cars where the speakers can be installed, while angle adjustable
tweeter design extends installation possibilities.
The hemp fiber I have mentioned above is used to provide a natural mid and high frequency sound, making sure the transition between woofer and tweeter is nothing but smooth, while also being both strong and light enough to support more power and impressive sound quality.
Getting to the technical details part of these speakers, well, I will start with the fact that all in the Arsenal series have a rated sensitivity of 92dB/Wm. Come to think about it, car audio shouldn't have sensitivity rated for Wm but rather Wcm, but that's not my choice to make. As for the frequency range, this is usually between 35Hz and 30,000Hz for most of the speakers, with exceptions reaching 32,000 or just 20,000, as well as starting at 40Hz or 50Hz. Power ranges between 50 and 80 watts RMS, and pricing between $149.95 and $299.95.
