It's becoming quite clear that audio systems with no iPod support are heading towards extinction fast, and for this reason, the most important manufacturers of home audio equipments tend to start integrating iPod docks or connectors in pretty much any new product they roll out onto the market. And that's also the case with JVC, which has just announced the UX-LP5 CD Micro Component System that comes equipped with a “Flip Dock” for iPod, but also a wide range of additional features on the side.
So, besides being able to play the music stored onto their iPod (4th generation or later) and controlling its functions (Play, Pause, Skip, Search, Repeat, Random, Menu, Select, Wheel Up/Down), users will obviously be able to also recharge its batteries, plus output videos onto a TV set via the video output.
The UX-LP5 features a built-in optical disc player and supports MP3/WMA music directly, but also pretty much anything users might decide to throw at it via the line-in connector. The audio system can pump out up to 70W of audio power via the 2-way, bass-reflex speakers, featuring a Signal-to-Noise Ratio of 85dB and less than 10% total harmonic distortion. Plus, the device from JVC also incorporates a digital amplifier, Sound Turbo and Hyper-Bass sound.
Additionally, JVC's audio system packs an AM/FM tuner, with up 30 preset FM stations, plus a fluorescent display and a clock with timer, which can be used as an alarm clock with special wake-up volume. Moreover, it's easy to install in pretty much any home, given the fact that it measures somewhere in the vicinity of 165 x 258 x 258 mm, at an overall weight of 1.9 kilograms.
The new JVC UX-LP5 CD Micro Component System is also fairly affordable, selling for somewhere in the vicinity of 150 US dollars, which, by all accounts, is a very decent price point, as far as iPod-compatible micro systems are concerned.
