As we've already told you a couple of times up until now, this year's International CES was a particularly... rich one, as far as product announcements are concerned. And it's not been all about 3D HDTVs, computers and camcorders, but other types of products as well, including here quite a few after-market
infotainment solutions for vehicles (although not nearly as numerous as in the previous years).
JVC also brought to CES a plethora of new products, including here the device we'll talk about as follows, namely the KW-AVX830 double-DIN Bluetooth multimedia receiver, designed to allow users to stream content fast and easy from pretty much any source to their car's audio system.
The device comes equipped with a built-in 7-inch widescreen monitor that offers dynamic AV entertainment, while functioning as a user-friendly touch panel. Users are even allowed to select from four GUI (Graphical User Interface) patterns in 12-color variations, while the KW-AVX830 packs a very interesting proximity sensor, which activates/de-activates the screen depending on whether the user's hand gets closer or farther from the display.
Also, the device features a detachable faceplate (for security reasons), as well as a USB connection for iPod/iPhone that provides clear digital sound in full speed transfer, while charging the device. In addition to iPod/iPhone, the unit plays MP3/WMA/WAV audio files and JPEG/MPEG1/2 video files from USB flash memory or a digital audio player by USB connection.
As its name says it, the
unit from JVC sports a wired microphone that offers flexible settings for clear communication. The Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP) for iPhone lets users automatically access the phone book without transfer, but they can also manually transfer up to 400 numbers from compatible cell phones.
The KW-AVX830 features advanced EQ settings, which boosts the frequency ranges usually absorbed in the car, and adjusts the sound to best fit the human ear. In terms of audio power, the audio infotainment solution from JVC is pretty impressive, delivering a maximum power output of 50 watts x 4, a continuous power output of 20 watts x 4 ch at 4 ohms, while the frequency response range varies between 40 and 20,000Hz.
Pricing for the new JVC KW-AVX830 double-DIN Bluetooth multimedia receiver is set at 660 US dollars, which is not that high a sum to pay for an advanced after-market audio system such as this one.
