How do you like to wear your tent? Oh, you don't. Then you must be one of those people that like to carry huge bags on their back while on a mountain top. You don't have to anymore because tents are now
wearable and iPod-friendly.
JakPak is the tent I am talking about and it is made out of breathable but waterproof urethane, coated with a ripstop nylon and polyester fabric. This pack weighs just 3lbs and will serve as a jacket, a sleeping bag and a tent.
Everything you need to stay comfy on your trips. It even has a no see um bug netting for camping in mosquito-friendly areas. It is made comfortable by the integrated suspenders, which help distribute shelter's and sleeping bag's weight evenly. Carry your iPod if you want, the JakPak has an iPod loop for its cord.
Mother Nature occasionally likes to make fun of us, as well as turn into a feared enemy, but it is
inventions like the JakPak that make us a worthy adversary. This really is the “idiot-proof” tent, with just a few velcros to pull. All of its chambers are secured with one. Also, they will keep you “in touch” with the JakPak when it is in tent or sleeping bag mode. It does have some zippers as well and those are manufactured by YKK. They are present at the storm flaps over the pockets, for example.
So far, we have covered weather problems, bug problems, portability and comfort problems; is there something I'm missing? Almost forgot about fire and rust.
You can cut them from the list as well. The JakPak meets CPIA84 Flame Retardant Standards and the tent's rods are made out of rust resistant metal. The gadget costs $250 USD.
We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is
